More flowers

Day 157

I am thankful for good news.  "Good news" is the regular first feature of our staff meeting.  I'm not sure if it's because it's state testing week and staff are feeling a bit wild, if it's the end of the year and we really are seeing marvelous progress, or if it was the presence of the #1 and #3 administrator from the district present at our meeting but.....we had more "good news" announced today by staff than I've ever heard.  Kids are taking testing seriously, showing progress in their day to day academics, participating in the Mileage Club, a teacher was honored by a group for advocating for young children, and on and on.  It was quite fun.

A daily post doesn't seem complete now with a photo or seven.....

A helping hand

Day 156

I am thankful for helpful friends.  I need to get my car back to the shop and a work friend agreed to pick me up there and drop me back off at the end of the day.  Yay!

I didn't go out back and see my rose bushes but the flowers out front are still putting on a show:

Not content to wait for their turn in the limelight the callas are coming up right behind the amaryllis.

The callas are all from Mother's Day and Easter gifts to Mom.  

I'm hoping that one of the pots comes up yellow.

Rescued

Day 155

I am thankful for the rescue mission.  I am thankful that we get to sing and ring for their Sunday evening church service a couple times each year.  I think we put more effort, more love, more of ourselves into the music we offer.  I know we sound better-their acoustics, in their warehousey buildings, are amazing.    In the end the blessing we receive far outweighs the blessing we bring.

Day 154

I never thought I'd say this but I'm thankful the Knit/Crochet blog week is almost over.  It's too much to talk about knitting every day.  I'm glad I participated but, whew, one more day!
