Remembering, in faith

Day 327

I am thankful for songs that are hard to sing.  We are revisiting "On Faith Alone".   I'm making it through the first page and coming back in about page 8 or 9.   It will always be Mom's anthem to me.   It is such a testimony to a life of faith.   I couldn't not remember Mom's life of faith if I tried.

  1. As I was brushing my teeth today, a song hit me very powerfully. Hymn 809 in our hymnal, "Great is Thy Faithfulness". I went and got the hymnal, read the words and played it on the piano (a trick with double vision). God felt very close. He does have a sense of humor (touched by God when brushing my teeth?) but is an awesome, powerful, loving, faithful God. Good reminders to keep close, put my care in God's hands, as I prepare for brain surgery tomorrow.

  2. Love this! You have been in my prayers all day today and I look forward to speaking with you soon. We are ringing Great is Thy Faithfulness in a couple weeks. I shall think of you and this experience. I think during routines we're more open, in a way, because we're not thinking about what we're doing, we're just doing it. Perfect opportunity to hear God's voice!
